APD Engineering is pleased to announce the appointment of Om Prakash to our Melbourne office as Principal Electrical Engineer – Substations.
Om has more than 18 years of experience in the design & construction of large scale solar projects of a total generation in excess of 1GW (PV & solar thermal). His experience includes Wind Farm Design, CCPP & Thermal, Nuclear & Gas Power Plants & High Voltage AIS & GIS Substations up to 760kV.
He has extensive local & international design know-how on complex industrial solar & wind farm projects. He has worked closely with many of the major utilities in Australia, NZ and the Solomon Islands”.
Om’s areas of expertise lie in large scale solar, wind & HV voltage substation primary systems design, engineering & team management. This includes studies & modelling of the solar farms, solar farm design from concept / development stages to energization, preparation of concept, detailed layout, SLD, AC & DC loss calculations & all reports required for solar & wind farm projects.
His experience extends to the coordination & support required for R1 & R2 testing & grid connections, earthing, lightning protection & EMF study & design, earth grid current injection testing, HV AC & DC cable sizing, insulation coordination and lighting study.
