APD Engineering were engaged by ElectraNet to undertake Insulation Coordination and Reactor Switching Studies for a 275kV substation in South Australia. Advanced studies based on PSCAD/EMTDC modelling were carried out to ensure the safe operation of the substation through surge protective devices.
APD’s Power System Studies team provided First Quantum Minerals (FQM) with end-to-end services from detailed site survey (data collection), through to computer modelling and system analyses.
APD Engineering were contracted by PLP to engineer and design three new 1.5MVA and one 1MVA 11/0.433kV kiosk substations, powerline modifications and power and fibre optic cable reticulation for Rio Tinto Iron Ore’s Wickham Accommodation Expansion.
APD were engaged by the CSIRO to conduct Power System Studies, Protection Grading Analysis, Earthing System Design & Site Testing and prepare the HV Submission for the Network Operator, Horizon Power.
APD were contracted by Rio Tinto to carry out detailed protection studies on the HV kiosk sub and downstream LV DBs, and assess the potential hazard to personnel due to the occurrence of an Arc Flash as part of the incorporation of the new substation into the West Angelas electrical network.
