APD is seeking applications from passionate undergraduate and postgraduate students for the 2024 Vacation Work program looking to develop their knowledge in the Renewable Energy sector, learning alongside our Power System team over the summer break. Our program commences on the 18th of November until the 21st of February, on a full-time basis.

What you will learn
We are proud to offer undergraduate students an opportunity to be part of Australia’s energy transition, shaping the future of the energy industry with our Future Grids team. Our vacation program aims to provide real industry experience, equipping students with the essentials to make an impact and be part of the change.
Our paid 12-week program offers a competitive wage and will see students work alongside a team of highly experienced engineers. Students will have opportunities to develop technical knowledge and skills using industry leading software and tools. In addition to contributing to real world projects through three rotations, students will have access to a tailored program consisting of:
- The National Electricity Market (NEM) and who we are;
- Power System fundamentals;
- The National Electricity Rules (NER) and application;
- The Connection Process for renewable resources;
- Experience with industry standard Power Systems Software;
- Project management and delivery;
- Exposure to stakeholder management with Clients, NSPs, AEMO and Manufacturers;

What You Will Bring To The Team
Our 2024 Vacation Program is open to undergraduate and postgraduate studies located in Greater Brisbane area. We’re seeking a highly motivated and passionate individual who shares our commitment to shaping the future of the energy industry. The ideal candidate would be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy or Power Systems Engineering expected to graduate in the year of 2024 or 2025.
