APD Engineering provide a complete range of on-site field testing and commissioning services for power infrastructure. APD also offer tailored field engineering solutions and other niche services – network audits, performance studies, troubleshooting and investigative support services.
The commissioning team comprises of electrical engineers and technicians with protection systems experience, proficient in conducting power system studies and the preparation of settings for Intelligent Electronic Devices (IED) for voltages up to 500kV. APD own a full suite of testing equipment covering the various tests commonly performed in an electrical environment.
APD were commissioned to perform detailed design and development in integrating two new potable water tanks and associated equipment into the plant Process Control System at BHP Billiton Iron Ore Yandi Mine.
APD undertook the design to BHP requirements; automated processes development, testing and commissioning; construction support; site commissioning and project delivery.
APD were consulted by Rio Tinto’s Nammuldi Agricultural Project when facing challenges with their Pivot Control System. After an assessment of the existing infrastructure APD developed a design that not only improved the system but simplified it, making it practical and cost effective. APD also conducted the testing, construction and commissioning of the project.
APD was contracted by the Solomon Islands Electricity Authority for the replacement of failing relays and an upgrade of functionality to their existing system, improving the networks reliability and quality of power. APD’s scope of work was to review existing hardware and settings, perform bench testing of relays, commission new relays, update settings and provide training to SIEA staff.
