SCOPE:
Detailed design, development, testing, SCADA commissioning & integration into the SAPN network of the Mannum Solar Farm – Stage 1.
TECHNICAL SITUATION
The Mannum Solar Farm is a 4.95MVA solar photovoltaic system which connects to the SAPN
distribution network at a 33kV outdoor MV station. It is distributed across three inverter stations,
each equipped with RMUs and 33/0.4kV step down transformers. The solar farm consisted of
approximately 17000 solar panels mounted to a single-axis tracking system utilising string inverter
technology.
APD Engineering was engaged by CSI for the detailed design, development, testing, SCADA commissioning & integration into the SAPN network of the Mannum Solar Farm – Stage 1.
SERVICES PROVIDED
- MV Network Design relating to: 33kV cable systems; DNSP Grid Connection Assets; PCE (Power Conversion Equipment); Protection System; SCADA;
- Primary Civil Structural Design relating to: Footings; Roads; Fences;
- DC Network Design relating to: Cable Sizing; Protection requirements; Cablemanagement;
- Materials Procurement;
- Gateway & HMI development using SEL RTACs;
- Configuration of all protection relays;
- Configuration of all communications network equipment;
- Interfacing with all packaged site equipment including RMUs and inverter manager, weather station and solar tracker;
- Interfacing with the SAPN RTU;
- Interfacing with CSI operations centre;
- All documentation including functional specifications and testing specifications;
- Internal testing, factory acceptance testing and site commissioning of the system.
